Audio, Video & Navigation

Car audio/video components are extremely popular with enthusiasts because they are both visually appealing and add a strong entertainment value to the vehicle. Traditionally, this category of modifications was limited to aftermarket stereo systems that were comprised of speakers, a head unit or CD player, and one or more amplifiers. In the last decade many new products have come to the market like in car televisions, MP3 players, and navigation units. The head units available have detachable faces or units that turn around, for security and they will play MP3s and have built in equalizers to accommodate the broad range of speakers that they control. TV monitors can be purchased for the back of the head rests, the steering wheel, dashboard, and even for folding down out of the ceiling. Navigation units add a nice custom touch and are very useful as well. For the Hondas, many of these cars do not come from the factory, equipped with a navigation system. Units that mount to the inside of the windshield are available, in addition to units that are installed in the dash, in place of the factory CD player, head unit. Although this is the largely more expensive option, units can now play music, display navigation, and serve as a TV, all in one unit. Replacing factory speakers, with superior aftermarket models, and installing additional speakers and subwoofers remains very popular also. A loud stereo that sounds good in all ranges will always be an attraction for Honda tuners because it is part of the rich tuning heritage. Building a car that looks good, sounds good, and goes fast is everyone's dream. A person's budget is always the limiting factor, for the amount of upgrades that they can do with audio and visual units; this can be one of the easiest places to spend significant amounts of money on a vehicle.
